Japanese Film Festival 2023

The much-awaited Japanese Film Festival is making its comeback in 2023, running from 7th September to 15th October at selected GSC cinemas across Malaysia. It promises to deliver the finest selection of Japanese cinema on the grand screen for everyone's delight.

Now in its 19th year, this annual event features over 16 captivating titles across genres like drama, documentary, romance, mystery and animation, immersing audiences in diverse aspects of Japanese culture.

The Organiser

The Japan Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in 1972 with the purpose of promoting mutual cultural exchange between Japan and other countries. The Kuala Lumpur office was established in October 1989.

The primary objective of JFKL is to develop mutual understanding between people through culture and language within the region. The office also facilitates and supports the exchange of personnel and experts who work in the fields of Arts, Culture, Humanities and Social Sciences.
